SOMETHING TO PONDER:
The State of Oklahoma spends $9,075.00 per student to provide for their education through taxation revenue allocations. Public education is 38.9% of the state budget. In 2015, total state revenue was $22,000,000,000. Therefore, $8,588,000,000 was spent on public education, including state universities. There were 692,670 students enrolled in public education schools in 2015. Multiply 692,670 students by $9,075.00 and you get $6,285,980,250 spent on their education.

No one knows the numbers but let’s say 100,000 students were parent-led, parent-taught and parent-funded by home education. Multiply 100,000 by $9,075 and you get $907,500,000. This represents money saved on educational costs for the State of Oklahoma. This would be nearly enough to make up the state’s budget deficit for this year. And guess what? Home education parents are already spending their money in the private business sector, and that actually raises more revenue for the state through sales tax receipts on the goods and services they are purchasing to home educate their children.
The cutting of costs and the raising of revenue. Who could possibly be against that? Logically, the Constitutional Home Educators Alliance believes that most people would say that the State Legislature would recognize the intrinsic value of the home education community in Oklahoma, and see this as a win-win situation. Well, we are not going to assume anything. We’re going up there to pay our respects and ask them have they considered these things. We simply cannot assume a Legislator knows.
